London born gambist
Claire
Bracher, completed her undergraduate studies with Hille Perl in Bremen
Germany, and her postgraduate studies with Reiko
Ichise at the Royal College of Music (RCM), London.
With
members of her
ensemble 'Amaranthos', she won
first prize at the 2008 Fenton House
Chamber
Music Competition, and reached
the
final of The York Early Music Young
Artists Competition 2008.
Claire
presently and regularly teaches the two RCM viol consorts and her nine
viol students at the Royal College of Music. Claire was the
founder and organiser of the first
and second 'International Festival of
Viols', held in 2007 and 2008 at
The RCM.
Claire
has performed with many renowned early music specialists, including;
Ton Koopman, Julian Podger, Hille Perl, Harry van der Kamp, Harold
Vogel
and the King's Singers.
Claire regularly
performs with many ensembles including Weser Renaissance, Sirius
Viols, Amaranthos, ORLANDOviols and Carpe
CORdas. Claire has performed at many early music
Festivals including those in Innsbruck, Stockholm, Vaanta and the st.
Martin in the Fields Early Music Festival. In 2005 Claire performed in
Carnegie Hall (New York) under the baton of Ton
Koopman.
Claire
has been involved in recordings under the label 'cpo' (Ensemble Weser
Renaissance) and 2009 sees the debut release of the recording, 'Sound out my voice!' with her viol
consort ORLANDOviols, produced by Carpe Diem records.
Claire
is currently an active soloist and chamber musician, regularly
performing in earlymusic concerts, festivals and radiobradcasts in and
around
Europe.
